Thanks for stopping by and getting to know me. I'm all about solving problems smarter and I want to share my passion for problem solving with the students in my classes.
I graduated with a Regents diploma from New Rochelle (NY) High School and went on to earn a Bachelor of Journalism degree from the University of Texas in Austin. While spending the next five years back in Manhattan working full-time as a live highlight editor for NBA-TV, I also made time to work with middle school students in my neighborhood as a math tutor. I enjoyed the experience of helping students become better problem solvers and more confident math learners, so I decided to pursue a second career in education. I earned a Master of Arts in Secondary Mathematics Education degree from Teachers College in New York City. The very next year I received my first classroom placement, teaching 8th grade at the Hyde Leadership Charter School in the South Bronx, NY. |
Home & Hobbies |
I relocated to Phoenix from Denver in January of 2015 and enjoy living in the valley.
My biggest passion in life is staying active so I like to keep busy playing sports. Soccer, tennis and skiing are my three favorite sports and I also practice yoga. When I'm not busy playing, I'm usually cheering on some of my favorite teams: Chelsea Football Club, New York Mets, Denver Broncos and Texas Longhorns. Finally, I own and manage an online marketplace for Magic: the Gathering, a collectible card game which I have been playing since I was in middle school! |
